A club night highlighting Bristol's South Asian DJs is launching in Stokes Croft this week, with RepresentAsian residents and guest artists set to take over The Crofters Rights on Friday 18 February.
The brand-new events series has been organised to bring together voices from the South Asian diaspora, promote the presence of South Asian DJs and celebrate South Asian culture.
Tickets for the first in a series of parties taking place at The Crofters Rights are on sale now and can be found here.
Having launched as a podcast series before moving onto the airwaves with a show on Bristol's 1020 Radio, RepresentAsian are ready to jump into the club scene with their first-ever party this weekend.
Attendees can expect a forward-thinking mix of UK Garage, UK funky, afro-house and more, interlaced with a choice selection of Bhangra and Bollywood cuts.
The team's debut lineup is topped by renowned promoter and DJ RISHI, who has carved out a stellar reputation for himself in recent years with events like no_one and Brown Excellence.
RISHI will be joined by Bristol-based DJs and RepresentAsian co-founders DJ Adeevah and Yusuf Suave.
Spanning ballroom, vogue, uk funky and more, Adeevah's sets have captured the attention of club-goers across Bristol and London, recently securing the fast-rising selector a spot on the Booty Bass roster.
Yusuf Suave began DJing in Bristol in the late 2000s, going on to play regularly at major venues and festivals across the UK. Alongside his Top Rankin' night and radio show on SWU.fm, Suave has appeared on Radio 1Xtra, BBC Asian Network and Reprezent Radio.
RepresentAsian is the latest addition to a busy 2022 club programme at The Crofters Rights, who recently hosted the first in a monthly residency series for female-led creative collective Concrete Jungyals.
Tickets for RepresentAsian's debut party at The Crofters Rights on Friday 18 February are on sale now and can be found here.
