Bristol Anime Con to take place this weekend

Get lost in striking worlds and connect with like-minded people in BS1.

 

A huge anime, gaming, cosplay and comic book convention, Bristol Anime Con, will arrive at Mercure Grand Hotel, near St Nicholas Market, this weekend, bringing an array of much-loved characters to life.

 

The event – with an exciting programme of activities, stage events, panels, parties, performances - will take place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 August.

Bristol Anime Con is organised by Anime League – a group dedicated to bringing anime fans, gaming fans, cosplayers and general geeks together.

 

Anime League host over fifty events a year, including online forums, social media events, and real-life meetups - all designed to bring a community together.

 

Their biggest type of event, a convention, is arriving in Bristol this weekend (27 and 28 August), promising two days of fun featuring everything from gaming, cosplay, anime, comics and more.

 

This year’s Bristol Anime Con will include a variety of activities, stage events, panels, parties, and performances, including a talent show, cosplay masquerade and a cosplay auction – all of which punters can sign up for on the day.

 

Other events at the convention include an anime exhibition, cosplay workshops, table-top game adventures, video game tournaments, and J-pop performances.

 

Most of this weekend’s programme are family-friendly, but there are some that are only suitable for attendees above a certain age.
