Europe’s Largest Street Art Festival Returns for 2026

After its scheduled fallow year, UPFEST makes a highly anticipated return to Bristol from Friday 15th to Sunday 31st May 2026. This 17-day international biennial transforms the city into a living gallery, marking one of the most ambitious editions in the festival’s 18-year history.

Leading the 2026 creative vision is Bristol-based muralist Melo (Esme Lower). Renowned for her playful characters and vibrant storytelling, Melo steps into the role of lead Festival Artist as the event expands its reach. While the Tobacco Factory remains the festival’s creative heart with live graffiti battles and workshops, new partnerships with Bristol BID and Cabot Circus will see large-scale murals rising across the city centre and into Hartcliffe.

Get Involved:

  • Artist Open Call: Registration is now open for both emerging and established artists to claim a piece of the city’s walls. Applications close Sunday 1st March 2026.
  • Crowdfunding for Culture: To keep the festival free and accessible, UPFEST has launched a £10,000 crowdfunding campaign. Supporters can secure exclusive rewards, including Melo-designed apparel and art supplies, via Fundsurfer.
  • Creative Learning: Backed by Arts Council England, an expanded workshop programme will be available to the public, with free bookings opening on 1st May.

From its long-standing charity partnership with NACOA to its commitment to community-led projects, UPFEST 2026 continues to define Bristol as a global capital of street art.
