Confidence Man at The Bristol Beacon

Confidence Man performs at The Bristol Beacon on Tuesday 3rd December 2024

Confidence Man are an electro-pop duo from Brisbane, Australia, known for their catchy, upbeat and tongue-in-cheek pop that draws heavily on electronic dance scenes. Led by frontpeople Janet Planet (real name Grace Stephenson) and Sugar Bones (Aiden Moore), the live music of the act is driven by Clarence McGuffie (Sam Hales) and Reggie Goodchild (Lewis Stephenson).

Confidence Man’s debut album, Confident Music for Confident People, peaked at no.31 on the Australian charts, and won Best Independent Dance/Electronica Album at the AIR Awards in 2019, as well as receiving rave reviews from across the critical spectrum.

In 2021, Confidence Man released their second album, Tilt, which shifted their sound into a more heavily-produced, dance electronica sound – and won them another AIR award for Best Independent Dance or Electronica Album or EP. Tilt proved a versatility and talent they went on to further showcase in subsequent albums and singles, like the remix EP Re-Tilt and single On & On (Again).

Confidence Man have recently announced the approach of their new album 3AM (La La La) – inspired by their move to London and the rave culture of the 1990s, the album blends acid techno, trance, breakbeat, and big beat for a darker, sexier, and more surreal experience.

Confidence Man are known for eye-grabbing, high-octane live experiences – including wild outfits (and outfit changes), visuals, dancing and raw powerful energy. Whether you’re an existing fan or not, this will be a show worth attending for the pure showmanship alone.
