Bristol City host Barnsley at Ashton Gate on the first day of the Championship season (Saturday 5th August), with the Robins hoping to make a winning start to their campaign.

Barnsley are the first opponents of the new term for Bristol City, as Lee Johnson’s men adjust to life after the departure of the talismanic Tammy Abraham, who netted 23 times in the league last season.

 

Bristol City enter their third season back in the Coca-Cola Championship looking to consolidate and improve upon a 17th place finish last time around. The club was founded in 1894 and play their home games at Ashton Gate in Bedminster.
