
Stage times announced for Massive Attack’s massive ‘Act 1.5’ show
Posted on: 16 Aug 2024Next weekend, the trip-hop legends will take over The Downs for an extraordinary live event that will culminate 25 years of climate activism for the iconic band.
Massive Attack’s ‘Act 1.5 - Climate Action Accelerator’ show will take over The Downs on Sunday 25 August 2024.
The group’s first show in five years promises to “trial new standards for the decarbonisation of live music” and will see them joined by a carefully selected roster of guests including rap icon and one-half of Run The Jewels Killer Mike, drone-heavy folk pioneers Lankum and more. With support from legendary Grammy-Award-winning Atlanta rapper Killer Mike, Mercury Prize-nominated Irish folk band Lankum, actress and singer-songwriter Sam Morton, and Wild Bunch pioneer, DJ MILO, as well as a programme of guest speakers throughout the day, this looks all set to be a very special event.
The set times are as follows:
2 PM – 3 PM | DJ Milo (also performing throughout the day)
3.15 PM – 4 PM | Sam Morton
4.40 PM – 5.40 PM | Lankum
6.25 PM – 7.25 PM | Killer Mike
8.25 PM – 10.15 PM | Massive Attack
This event promises to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged and is the first physical fruition of Massive Attack’s collaboration with climate scientists and analysts from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Research.
On top of the stacked musical line-up, this special event also has a dedicated talk area in partnership with Novara Media, featuring panel discussions and guest speakers. Attendees will also be able to purchase limited edition signed, hand-finished prints and t-shirts, with all profits going to Doctors Without Borders.
