From Matthew López - the Tony and Olivier Award-winning writer of The Inheritance – comes the sexy, funny, and hauntingly human play, Reverberation.

Reverberation runs at Bristol Old Vic from Wednesday 2 October to Saturday 2 November 2024.

Starring in this extraordinary play, reimagined for its European premiere after debuting in Connecticut in 2015, are television mainstay Eleanor Tomlinson as ‘Claire’ and fast-rising theatre star Michael Ahomka-Lindsay as ‘Jonathan’. This will be one of The Old Vic’s headline productions of 2024 – do not miss out!

After a personal tragedy, Jonathan has withdrawn from the world and has barely had any social life beyond the men he meets online. When enigmatic free spirit Claire moves into the flat above, she attempts to coax him out of his shell.

Drawn together by a need for emotional attachment, the pair form a connection, but the past eventually catches up with them, threatening the happiness they’ve found. Matthew López’s beautiful piece about loneliness and longing has been reshaped since its debut in 2015 and is ready for its European premiere.

A stellar cast will see Eleanor Tomlinson (Netflix’s One Day, Channel 4’s The Couple Next Door, BBC’s The Outlaws, BBC’s Poldark) play Claire, Michael Ahomka-Lindsay (Cabaret at Playhouse Theatre, Choir Boy at Bristol Old Vic) as Jonathan and Jack Gibson as Wes.

Fast-rising director Jack Sain will lead a sparkling creative team that includes Ti Green (Touching the Void) who makes an eagerly anticipated return to design Nicola T Chang (For Black Boys…, West End), lighting designer Robbie Butler (The Glass Menagerie, UK tour), video designer Daniel Denton and intimacy co-ordinator Robbie Taylor Hunt.

Reverberation runs at Bristol Old Vic from Wednesday 2 October to Saturday 2 November 2024 with tickets available to purchase HERE.
