Ever since the punk explosion in the mid 1970s, Bruce Foxton has been a mainstay of venues up and down the UK. In 1977, The Jam released their anthemic ‘In The City’ record and the urgent nature of the music, along with the band’s mod look, caused a ripple amongst the country’s music fans that lasts to this day.
Back in the days of The Jam, Foxton and drummer Rick Buckler were the driving force and rhythm section behind the songwriting abilities of frontman Paul Weller. In addition to his talent as a bassist, Foxton took vocals on the song ‘David Watts’ and writing ‘News Of The World’ – the theme song for the Mock the Week – and fan favourite ‘Smithers-Jones’.
Taking the role of guitarist and vocalist is Russell Hastings, who has been collaborating with Foxton since 2007. A genuine fan of The Jam as well as a skilled guitarist and singer, Hastings brings a vast amount of experience to the band, previously playing with Wilko Johnson, Steve Cropper and Paul Weller himself.
An immensely in-demand band, From The Jam’s ‘All Mod Cons’ 45th Anniversary Tour’ will see them play shows in Sheffield, Leicester, Bournemouth, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Southampton, Exeter, Cambridge, Norwich, Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Peterborough, Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle, Liverpool, Swindon, Cardiff and many more.
