Presented by Crosstown Concerts, the psych rock favourite is returning to Bristol next month along with his band, The Violators.

Kurt Vile and the Violators will play Bristol’s SWX on Thursday 15 June 2023.

Vile’s most recent album, (watch my moves), pools the artist’s unique ability as a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer to achieve new heights with a vibrant, yet meditative record propelled forward by his laid-back charm and curious spirit through distorted guitar, murmuring synth and a whole lot more.

Kurt Vile is a name synonymous with indie rock over the past two decades. A world-renowned singer-songwriter, over the years he has evolved a recognisable laid-back psych sound inspired by the likes of Neil Young, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. and more.

As the co-founder of The War On Drugs, Kurt Vile quickly gained a reputation as one of indie’s most exciting figures. After leaving the band in 2005, he forged his own solo career with his signature reflective style winning over fans all over the world.

His ninth album, (watch my moves), is a carefully crafted album that Vile describes as “…about songwriting. It’s about lyrics. It’s about being the master of all domains in music.” The record comes from a period when the singer-songwriter was finally resting after years of playing shows all over the world and this comes across in its laid-back sound.

In addition to Bristol, Kurt Vile and The Violators will play UK venues in London, Kent (Black Deer Festival), Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Birmingham and Brighton as part of a lengthy European and UK tour. Visit the artist’s website for more information.
