W.E Irish return to successful pub quiz

W.E Irish return to successful pub quiz

Posted on: 09 May 2023

Following the success of the inaugural W.E Irish CultureFest this year, the W.E Irish are keeping community spirit going - by hosting a pub quiz at Coach & Horses in Old Market.

W.E Irish, formerly the Bristol Irish Society, is the heart of the Irish community in Bristol and the South-West. They aim to “celebrate the Irish diaspora”, and provide a sense of community to the many thousands of Irish immigrants and people of Irish descent that live in Bristol and across the South-West.

To that end, they host a bevvy of cultural events across the city – most notably launching their brand-new W.E Irish CultureFest last March, with dozens of events from music to dancing, culminating in their famous St. Patrick’s day parade.

Those in the community and beyond will be glad to hear they’re upholding their regular pub quiz – with a brand new location! The new W.E. Irish Pub Quiz will be taking place in beloved Irish pub, and Old Market mainstay, Coach & Horses on Wednesday May 17.

It's great to see W.E Irish thriving in Bristol – a city that's always had a strong, vibrant Irish contingent of culture – and it’ll be exciting to see what events they come up with for the community going forward.

The quiz is open for teams of up to four, with tickets at £2.50. If you’re on your own, or a team of less than four, there’s also an option to be put into a team – so everyone is welcome! The quiz starts at 19:30, but entrants are encouraged to come for 19:00 for a chance to socialise, meet your rivals - and even put together a last-minute team.

The quiz is open to everyone, whether you're part of the Irish community or not - if you're interested, tables might get snapped up quickly, so email W.E Irish here to reserve a table in advance.
