Knowle’s Jubilee Pool has been hit hard in recent times and Friends of Jubilee Pool have organised a fundraising auction and fancy-dress party to help out.

Friends of Jubilee Pool’s fundraising party will take place at The Thunderbolt, Bath Road on Friday 5 May.

Kicking off the Coronation Bank Holiday celebrations, the event will aim to secure Jubilee Pool’s future by raising funds for a major refurbishment and essential repairs which will help ensure environmental and financial sustainability. The pool is approaching its 90th birthday and the Trustees hope these new measures will make sure it sees 100 more.

Tickets are selling fast and can be purchased either from the pool itself or HERE.

Pub landlord Dave McDonald has kindly donated The Thunderbolt and its garden as the party venue with a busy lineup of live music, DJs, a charity auction and a raffle with amazing prizes planned.

Organisers are expecting an array of fabulous aquatic-themed costumes including mermaids, Victorian bathers, Baywatch lifeguards, swashbuckling pirates, pink flamingos and exotic birds – perhaps even Nemo. While the fancy dress is optional, punters are invited to pull out that mankini from their closet and buy a ticket to this wonderful night.

Attendees are invited to head down from 7.30 PM to enjoy live music from talented sea shanty band, Storm Force Ten who will be telling tales of Bristol’s great sea-faring traditions through their popular back catalogue. There will be several South Bristol DJs who are sure to fill the dancefloor with revellers, creating a truly festive atmosphere.

In addition, there will be a ‘best costume’ competition and a live auction and raffle with incredible prizes including a night in the Shepherd’s Hut at Petruth Paddocks Campsite, a designer necklace from Diana Porter and a selection of lovely gifts donated by Dunelm, Bristol Beer Factory and more.

If that wasn’t enough, The Thunderbolt’s fundraising party will feature delicious street food from Bristol Soul Bowl as well as a well-stocked bar. Bristol Soul Bowl is a street food duo that will be serving up both vegan and meat dishes throughout the event.

Friends of Jubilee Pool’s fundraising party will take place at The Thunderbolt, Bath Road on Friday 5 May. Tickets are selling fast so dig deep and support a worthy cause by purchasing your ticket HERE.

Don’t forget to bring cash for the raffle and auction!
