Brand new alternative club night to kick off this New Year’s Eve
Posted on: 20 Dec 2022Still without plans to see in the new year? Bristol O2 Academy’s brand-new monthly alternative party is debuting this New Year’s Eve.
The Ultimate Alternative NYE will run from 9 PM on Saturday 31 December with tickets priced at £14.05.
This brand-new event promises to be an all-encompassing rock club, bringing together the best of all alternative music genres from pop-punk to indie, party to metal. Alt-Nite will take place on the third Friday of each month in 2023.

Bristol’s finest alternative DJs (including Megatron Tom, CHADDERS, Jagermonkey and J4) will bring the city’s scenesters two rooms of the finest pop-punk, indie, emo, party, metal, nu-metal and post-hardcore about with the latest tunes, the freshest talent and legendary names all included.
Those hoping to spend their New Year dancing to some indie classics can expect a healthy dose with Britpop legends Oasis, Sheffield superstars Arctic Monkeys, electro-pop mainstays The 1975, 2000s three-piece The Wombats, Bristol punks IDLES and many more.
A whole roster of top emo and pop-punk acts will also be included in the party playlist with Grammy award-winning Paramore, Brendon Urie’s Panic! At the Disco, much-loved singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne and others.
Metal heads will hear tracks from Yorkshire metalcore outfit Bring Me The Horizon, masked heavy metal legends Slipknot, influential icons Metallica, Welsh reggae metal group Skindred and a host of other acts.
There will, of course, be plenty of rock too. With California rockers Blink 182, the Dave Grohl fronted Foo Fighters, eclectic guitar wielders Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Scottish prog rock band Biffy Clyro, emo rock four-piece Fall Out Boy and legendary grunge outfit Nirvana all sure to feature heavily.
In addition to these cult icons, Alt-Nite will be full of the biggest songs from the biggest acts including Billie Eilish, Queen, Harry styles, Miley Cyrus, Eminem, Post Malone and many, many more.
