Dynamic techno two-piece Giant Swan are back in Bristol this weekend

Tickets are on final release for the massive homecoming show of the Bristol alternative dance music mainstays, with a host of the UK’s most vital electronic artists also involved.

Giant Swan will be at Bristol’s Trinity Centre on Saturday 19 November.

Known for a radical blend of aggressive dance music and hypnotic noise, the duo have garnered a strong reputation throughout the UK and beyond for their hypnotic improvised live performances and unique approach to their craft.

Tickets for this show are running low and can be found HERE.

Giant Swan are made up of local mainstays Robin Stewart and Harry Wright, the unusual project name was taken from a song by the influential post-hardcore band, The Blood Brothers.

Originally, Giant Swan was a side project alongside the duo’s previous band The Naturals, a noise band that first formed before most members were even in their teens.

Stewart and Wright were inspired to form a more electronic-focused outfit by Bristol’s rich experimental music scene – particularly, the Young Echo collective.

Despite their distinctly experimental approach, the duo have made a name for themselves as one of the UK’s most vital electronic artists. They have played high-profile festivals and venues all over the world and supported well-known acts including The Horrors.

Giant Swan have also garnered critical acclaim for their recorded output, most notably their 2019 self-titled album, and last week announced the release of new EP Fantasy Food early next year.

Their use of distorted vocals and abused guitar noise is indicative of an original ethos that pushes the techno genre to new heights. It is a testament to Giant Swan’s artistry and wide-spread influences that they are equally comfortable playing alongside abstract hip-hop icon Moor Mother or recording a live session for BBC Radio 1.

Stewart and Wright will be returning to their hometown for a massive show at Trinity Centre on Saturday 19 November. The event will see three support sets; beginning with a set from some Bristol favourites as Young Echo and Livity Sound affiliate Anina will be B2B with Plaque label boss Yokel.

Next up, producer and vocalist Akiko Haruna will present a personal, playful and cathartic performance before a headline support slot from internationally recognised producer Manni Dee, bringing blistering techno to the former church.
