J9's debut album, NASCENT, is due for release this summer.

Bristol-based party starters RSVP Bhangra are gearing up for two huge shows at Glastonbury later this month, but the occasion is especially significant for one founding member of the group, who'll be launching his own solo project on the final day of the festival.

J9 is the brainchild of British producer Judge Singh, and the culmination of more than two years of intensive work with a wide range of esteemed artists from the UK, India, US and Europe.

The project's debut album, NASCENT, will be given its first real test with Singh's debut live show at Glastonbury on Sunday 26 June, ahead of a general release later this summer.

Having performed at some of the UK's biggest and best festivals as well as renowned live venues across the country and into Europe, RSVP Bhangra have been at the forefront of a British bhangra renaissance for the best part of thirty years.

Blending traditional Punjabi music with contemporary dance influences and mainstream pop sensibilities, the band have created an infectious new sound and curate a one-of-a-kind party atmosphere at their shows.

Judge Singh, bass player and dancer for the group, has spent the bulk of the past two years working under an intriguing new solo alias, J9, which sees him build on RSVP's broad influences to create dreamy, soulful, genre-bending tracks.

Singh's debut solo album, NASCENT, sees him collaborate with a handful of renowned artists and producers, including sitar player and composer Sheema Mukerjee, saxophonist James Morton, vocalist Celestine and producer Dr Meaker.

RSVP Bhangra will be performing live on Glastonbury's Cabaret stage at 16:00 on Friday 24 June and again at the same place and same time the following day.

Fans can catch the first-ever performance from J9 at 13:00 on the Cabaret Stage.
