Having started life as a food truck at Glastonbury Festival, Thali has blossomed into a staple of Bristol foodie landscape, capturing the atmosphere, attitude and spirit of India and offering a unique interpretation of its cuisine.

From the back streets of Bombay to the beach shacks of Goa, Thali's concise menu showcases a diverse selection of traditional and contemporary dishes sourced from across the subcontinent.

The team operate on strict sustainability criteria, exclusively using locally-sourced and free-range produce, recycling as much of their waste as possible and completely eliminating palm oil from their menu.

With locations in Easton and Montpelier, Thali became the UK's first Indian restaurant group to be named as a Three Star Sustainability Champion by the Sustainable Restaurant Association in 2013.

Offering commission rates of just 15% per order - down from as much as 35% from leading delivery apps - BARBI are looking to safeguard the future of Bristol's hospitality industry with the BARBI App, ensuring independents keep a much larger share of their income.

The BARBI team hope that their new app will loosen the grip that major corporations like Uber and Deliveroo currently have on the industry, with a view to expanding to table booking, event ticket sales, discounts and local news features in the future.

As well as reducing fees for businesses, the app is also offering improved wages and rates for delivery riders and drivers.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and in an industry made up of more than 30,000 people and over 1,800 establishments in Bristol alone, support for independent businesses and the local economy is more important than ever.

Head to the Thali website to find out more and browse their menus, or head to the BARBI website to download the BARBI App.
