What’s On: January 2022 at The Redgrave Theatre

The historic Bristol Theatre, built in 1966 as the Clifton College Theatre, is starting 2022 as it means to go on with plenty of theatre, magic shows, dance and talks throughout January.

 

The theatre’s January 2022 events include ‘Suggs: A Life in the Realm of Madness’, ‘The Greatest Magician’ and ‘Carpenters Gold’ along with a host of other brilliant events.

SUGGS: A LIFE IN THE REALM OF MADNESS | 22 January

 

The Madness frontman and master showman is back. Off the back of his sell-out show ‘My Life Story’ (looking back at his journey to musical fame), Suggs is back on tour around the UK. 

 

The new show explores his surreal experiences following Madness’ unprecedented success. Suggs’ appearance at the Redgrave Theatre is SOLD OUT, however, those hoping to find a ticket can call the box office on 0117 3157 800 to be added to the waiting list.

BALLET THEATRE UK PRESENTS: THE SNOW QUEEN | 23 January

 

Ballet Theatre UK are bringing their re-telling of Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Snow Queen’ to the Redgrave this month. Ballet Theatre UK boast a renowned company of incredible dancers, costumes and stage sets and their production of this classic tale has gained much critical acclaim.

 

Sunday 22 January sees two performances of the piece, with the matinee show still sold out but evening tickets still available from the event page.

THE GREATEST MAGICIAN | 26 January 

 

A new magic show presented by James Phelan; the magician most famous for causing uproar after he correctly predicted the lottery. Directed by the late Paul Daniels, this dizzying show is coming to stage for the first time this year.

NICK BUTTER: RUNNING THE WORLD 196 | 28 January

 

This talk is presented by the extraordinary Nick Butters, the first and only person to run a marathon in every country in the world. In only 674 days, Butters ran 26.2 miles in all of earth’s 196 countries.

 

The runner will be sharing photography, film and tales from his startling adventures – tickets can be purchased from the event page.

CARPENTERS GOLD | 30 January

 

Coming to Bristol on 30 January is an evening featuring the beautiful sound of The Carpenters. Chart topping tracks such as ‘Please Mr Postman’ and ‘I Won’t Last a Day Without You’ are beautifully covered by Vikki Holland-Bowyer and Greg Stevenson in this tribute show.
