Bristol four-piece Langkamer are back at The Louisiana in March

Posted on: 06 Jan 2022

The Bristol show on 20 March 2022 is part of a massive UK tour that follows on from the band’s celebrated debut album, West Country, that was released in September last year.

As well as The Louisiana, the alt-country outfit will be playing venues in a plethora of cities including Liverpool, London, Cambridge, Sheffield, Glasgow, Birmingham, Portsmouth, Plymouth, Nottingham, Manchester, Bath and Cardiff.

Tickets for the Bristol show can be purchased from the event webpage.

Langkamer’s label as an alt-country band perhaps undersells the band somewhat with a number of other influences -including punk, aAmericanaand folk - clearly at play within their material.

However, the influence of projects such Pavement and Silver Jews are clearly at play throughout last year’s LP – particularly in some of the softer, more fragile moments.

West Country was released on 10 September 2021, the twelve-track record (released on local independent label Breakfast Records) gained a great deal of critical attention and recently appeared on several ‘end of year’ lists.

Bristol is integral to the band’s story beyond just the title of the album and single ‘The Ugliest Man in Bristol’. The quartet (made up of Joshua Jarman, Dan Anthony, Ed Soles and Tom Kelly) are a well-loved component of Bristol’s burgeoning alternative music community.

The band’s hometown is also key to their lyrical content, acting as a palpable motif throughout the record. Indeed, Jarman – the singer and drummer – has spoken about Bristol’s monumental class divisions as one such subject.

Langkamer’s massive upcoming 2022 tour sees them play 25 venues up and down the country including their big homecoming show at The Louisiana. To find out more about the upcoming tour, head to the band’s website.

Tickets for the Bristol gig (presented by 1% of One and Breakfast Records) on 20 March are available now and can be found on the event page.
