The historic King Street pub will be hosting a Christmas Market this Wednesday 15 December, inspired by the traditional Munich Winterfest.

The Llandoger Trow is gearing up for a special Christmas market this week, set to welcome locals for an afternoon of exclusive tipples and festive cheer on Wednesday 13 December.

After two years of being shut, The Llandoger Trow reopened in the summer and has since announced a slew of events, including a comedy club and a regular club night.

To find out more about what’s going on at the pub, head to their Twitter or Facebook pages.

This week’s Christmas Market will be supported by Rothaus, Oechsner and Black Forest Beers so expect a night of special beers, tasty treats, and some warming specials.

There is so much on offer, including Special Rothaus Pils Cask Tapping, a Rothaus Keg Tap Takeover - Maidle, Weiss, Pils and Maerzen, an Oechsner Keg Tap Takeover - Black Lager, Vier Lager, and representatives from both breweries in attendance.

Away from the beer, attendees can also enjoy bratwursts in rolls, pretzels, mulled wine, mulled cider, hot spiced nuts, and authentic German Schnapps.

The Llandoger Trow is perhaps Bristol’s most historic public house, dating back to 1664. Despite being severely damaged in the Second World War, the pub remains in good condition and is a grade 2 listed building.

It is said to have inspired several prominent pieces of literature with Robert Louis Stevenson using the pub as inspiration for the Admiral Benbow Inn in Treasure Island. It is also said that Daniel Defoe met the man who would provide the inspiration for Robinson Crusoe in the tavern.

Having closed in 2019, The Llandoger Trow has since found new owners and reopened its doors in June of this year to much fanfare.

The establishment have since announced several events including the regular Capers Comedy Club and the Department S club night, with the latter moving to King Street after 13 years at The Lanes.

The pub’s Winterfest Christmas Market will take place on Wednesday 15 December and is running from 16:00 to 23:00. Information can be found on the Facebook event page.
