Nilüfer Yanya is coming to Bristol in 2022

The mercurial London artist will be playing the Trinity on 15 March 2022 as part of a run of UK headline shows.

 

The indie pop singer-songwriter will be at the Bristol venue to showcase her upcoming second album, Painless - out on 4 March 2022.

The distinctive musician has had a quick musical ascendency since the release of her debut EP Small Crimes in 2016. A genre-defying artist through and through, Yanya dabbles with pop, indie rock, soul and trip hop in equal measure – making her both intriguing and remarkable.

 

Further releases such as widely streamed single ‘Baby Luv’ and (eventually) full-length album Miss Universe helped to cement the Londoner’s rising star credentials. The record, a tongue-in-cheek look at the health and beauty industry, expertly layers classic pop on top of jazz inspired melodies and attracted wide ranged critical acclaim.

 

Painless, the singer’s upcoming follow up, utilises industrial beats and melancholy harmonies as Yanya explores painful feelings surrounding loneliness and relationship breakdowns.

 

Speaking about the record, the artist has said “It's a record about emotion…I think it's more open about that in a way that Miss Universe wasn't because there's so many cloaks and sleeves with the concept I built around it.” She adds, summing up the ethos of the new album, “I'm not as scared to admit my feelings”

 

The album’s searing lead single ‘stabilise’ was released earlier this month and has been met with praise from publications including: CLASH, DIY, Dork, The FADER, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone UK as well as several high profile radio DJ such as Jack Saunders and Clara Amfo.

 

In support of her upcoming album, Yanya will play venues in Glasgow, Dublin, Manchester, Bristol and London before heading to Europe as well as the US. Tickets for these gigs and more information about Yanya can be found on the artist’s website.
