Final tickets remaining for Public Service Broadcasting at Bristol's O2 Academy

Posted on: 22 Oct 2021

The innovative outfit will be arriving in Bristol next week as part of an extensive UK & European tour.

Tickets are moving fast for Public Service Broadcasting's latest Bristol gig, with the eclectic three-piece set to perform live at the O2 Academy on Tuesday 26 October.

Made up of J. Willgoose on strings, Wrigglesworth on drums, keys and electronic instruments, and multi-talented musician J F Abraham, the band are currently touring their acclaimed fourth studio album, Bright Magic, released in September.

Since forming in 2009, Public Service Broadcasting have carved out a stellar reputation for themselves through creating tracks using samples from old public information films.

The band have spent more than a decade “teaching the lessons of the past through the music of the future.”

Public Service Broadcasting's debut album, 2013's Inform-Educate-Entertain, used samples from the British Film Institute to document the Battle of Britain and the summit of Everest.

Subsequent releases, 2015's The Race For Space and Every Valley two years later in 2017, used the same technique to document the space race and the fall of the British coal industry. The latter reached number four in the official UK Album Chart.

In frontman J Wilgoose's words, the group's fourth studio album, Bright Magic, is about "moving to Berlin to write an album about people who move to Berlin to write an album”.

Following opening shows in Cardiff, Brighton and Bristol, Public Service Broadcasting will be going on to perform in major cities up and down the UK, before travelling to Europe for a busy 11-show run.

Tickets for the band's upcoming Bristol show at the O2 Academy on Tuesday 26 October are on sale now and can be found here.
