Acid House pioneers 808 State to play Bristol's Trinity Centre in October

The Manchester-born group return with their first live dates in more than 18 months.

Trailblazing electronic duo 808 State have announced plans for a short Autumn tour, set to arrive in Bristol on Saturday 2 October to perform live at the Trinity Centre.

One of British dance music's earliest and most respected acts, 808 State were an integral part of the emerging Acid House scene of the late 1980s, earning legendary status with timeless tracks like 'Pacific State' and 'In Yer Face'.

Tickets for their Bristol show - the second stop on a nine-date tour - are on sale now and can be found here.

It's been thirty years since 808 State took their vital first steps into what would become a world-renowned British house and techno scene.

An entire generation after their innovative sound was being blasted across expansive dancefloors and gripping young ravers in the late 80s and early 90s, their legacy is being discovered - and remixed - by new fans and artists.

808 State's latest album, Transmission Suite, became their first full-length project in almost 20 years upon its release in 2019, and further demonstrated their technology-driven ability to innovate and experiment.

An impressively stripped-back body of music, the record draws a line between 808 State's home of Manchester and the original Detroit scene that birthed techno, and reflects on the pivotal roles that both cities played in defining electronic music.

Following the initial postponement of their tour due to the coronavirus crisis, 808 State will be performing rescheduled shows in major cities across the UK in October and November.
