Pencils at the ready, Bristol pub quizzes are back!

Hear-ye, eggheads! For it is time to start flexing those big old intellectual muscles of yours in public again.

 

At last folks, the time has come for you know it all's to re-emerge and bust out your encyclopaedic minds in front of your friends. 

 

Lucky for you, some of Bristol's finest watering holes have curated a rigorous set of questions to test your knowledge of pop culture and obscure memes, among other things.

Coach and Horses I

The Quiz on The Hill, hosted by pub quiz powerhouse Lets Get Quizzical is set to make its return on Monday 30 August at 19:30, running weekly henceforth.

 

Sink your teeth into this lively and engaging quiz with weekly themes, featuring rounds like Play Your Cards Right, Our Survey Says, and All or Nothing. Entry is £2. 

Grain Barge I Hotwell Road, Bristol, BS8 4RU

 

Hop aboard one of Bristol's premier floating destinations for a night of good food and quizzing every Monday. Head down at 18:00 to enjoy a fish or vegan curry. The battle of the brains commences at 20:00.

 

Entry is just £1. The maximum group size is six. 

Spotted Cow I 139 North St, Bedminster, Bristol, BS3 1EZ

 

Local DJ/band frontman Swiss Tony is back hosting his weekly quiz on Tuesdays at The Spotted Cow. There are great prizes on offer, so throw your hat in the ring. Head down for 21:00.

 

Entry costs £2, giving you access to both the quiz and bingo happening simultaneously. 

Prince of Wales I 5 Gloucester Rd, Bishopston, Bristol, BS7 8AA

 

As is customary with Covid-19, The Prince of Wales' weekly quiz, held every Wednesday, has been on a forced hiatus. Alas, no more. Why not try and get your mitts on some great prizes?

 

Proceedings start at 20:00. Entry costs £1.

Pipe and Lovers at Breaking Bread I The Downs

 

A quiz for the 21st century, forget about history, bone-up on some pop culture and obscure 90s music. Comedian Roisin Crowley Linton assumes hosting duty. Try not to spit out your drink, please.

 

Entry costs £1 per head. The next quiz is scheduled for Tuesday 24 August, with another booked on Tuesday 1 September. Get your tickets here.

Hobgoblin I 69-71 Gloucester Rd, Bristol BS7 8AS

 

Paper aeroplanes, crayons, jokers, mind-bending questions, some of the best burgers around and vast cash prizes. Enough said.

 

The maximum team size is seven. £2 entry per head. The quiz starts at 19:30 every Sunday.
