Posted on: 28 Jun 2021

Nominate the local heroes doing great work in your community.

There are only two days left to get your nominations in for the 2021 Bristol Young Heroes Awards, a ceremony dedicated to shining a light on young people who have overcome adversity, made a difference to the lives of others or acheived something extraordinary.

Launched in 2012, the Awards include recognition in 12 categories, covering Arts and Culture, the Environment and Education among others.

Voting for this year's Bristol Young Heroes Awards closes on Wednesday 30 June, with a ceremony set to take place in October - find out more and get your nominations in here.

Organised by local social enterprise organisation Community of Purpose, the annual Bristol Young Heroes Awards allow locals to celebrate the lives and achievements of young Bristolians.

The 2021 awards will, for the first time, recognise a young COVID Hero for going above and beyond to help others during the pandemic.

Other awards up for grabs include the Action Hero, going to a young person who has supported their community through volunteering, and the Caring Hero, a nod to someone who's dedicated time to looking after a family member or made sacrifices to put someone's needs before their own.

The High Sheriffs Award is the only honour with no age limit, and will be awarded to an individual who has shown considerable service to the service of young people.

Once the voting window has closed, the BYHA team will collate nominations and put together shortlists for each category.

While a date is yet to be confirmed, the awards ceremony is currently expected to go ahead in central Bristol in October 2021.
