Robins fans have been unable to attend matches in-person for over 12 months.

Bristol City have released a gallery of images from the last time supporters were allowed inside Ashton Gate Stadium, a home fixture against Fulham on 7 March 2020.

With the coronavirus crisis wearing on and COVID-19 cases still high in Bristol, supporters have been unable to return to their home ground in BS3 for over a year.

Despite such a long absence, some clubs are optimistic that fans will be able to return for the final matches of the 2020/21 season, following the government's recent 'roadmap' announcement outlining plans to gradually reopen the country.

Posting the gallery yesterday (Sunday 7 March), the club said: "It is a year to the day since Ashton Gate was last able to welcome City supporters to the ground.

"It was on this day 12 months ago that fans packed Ashton Gate for the visit of Fulham in the Sky Bet Championship - a match to mark 125 years of The Robins."

Supporters witnessed a cagey 1-1 draw against the eventual Premier League promotion winners, a match that ultimately became Ashton Gate's last before the English Football League was put on hold due to the initial coronavirus outbreak.

Bristol City currently sit 12th in the Championship table, 12 points off the play-off places with 11 matches remaining.

The club has struggled so far this season, but fans have been cautiously optimistic in recent weeks following the appointment of new manager Nigel Pearson.
