Centered around a core duo of singer Jim Higson and guitarist Daniel McCarthy, KAWALA combine a uniquely lush sound with accomplished harmonies using a far-reaching range of musical influences.

The band's rescheduled tour announcement was accompanied this week by the release of a brand-new video for their critically-acclaimed single, 'Pure Desire'.

Initially due to go out on the road this year, KAWALA's eagerly-anticipated UK tour was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.

Despite the setback, the band embarked on an innovative, socially-distanced UK park tour, in which they performed free acoustic sets to controlled numbers of fans, organised via WhatsApp.

The band were also recently made patrons of the Music Venue Trust, having earned their stripes in small, grassroots venues across the UK in recent years.

In partnership with the MVT, KAWALA took part in an exclusive event live-streamed from London's Hoxton Hall in October, performing alongside the likes of Arlo Parks, Everything Everything and Amazons to raise money for the organisation.

Now, rescheduled for May 2021 when things will (hopefully) be returning to normal, KAWALA are ready to take their fully-fledged live show to stages across the UK, including a date at Thekla as well as a closing gig at London's O2 Kentish Forum.

Tickets for KAWALA live at Thekla on Wednesday 26 May are on sale now and can be found here. For more information, or to find out what else is coming up at Thekla in 2021, head to their website.
