The Lazy Dog are selling 5L mini-kegs ahead of lockdown

Posted on: 03 Nov 2020

The popular Bishopston pub are looking to sell existing stock ahead of Thursday's closure.

The Lazy Dog are selling two-pint containers and 5L mini-kegs this week, offering deals on a range of draught beers, ciders and cask ales ahead of the upcoming four-week UK lockdown.

With the danger of open kegs going out of date during the closure, pubs across Bristol are running limited-time deals and discounts in a bid to sell as much as they can.

As part of their announcement across their social media channels, The Lazy Dog team also invited the public to book a table to enjoy one last drink or a meal before one of BS7's best-loved pubs temporarily closes its doors.

"We’re getting close to banging that gong for ‘time at the bar’ for the last time in a while again - as we all know we are back into National lockdown from this Thursday, 5th November," their post said.

"This is a ruling that hits us hard but we realise that it’s absolutely necessary for the health of our country. As a result, we’d like to invite you to book a table to come and enjoy a last pint or a spot of dinner over the next 3 days.

"If you can’t make it in but want to grab a pint or two of your favourite beer to put in your fridge to start lockdown on the right foot, we will be selling some 5-litre mini-kegs of cask ale tomorrow and Wednesday, we have some 2-pint containers you can fill with your favourite beer or cider or we can fill up containers you bring from home."

Those looking to pick up a keg or container don't need to book in advance - simply turn up at the pub and ask for one of the team to fill you up.

Final bookings for tonight (Tuesday 3 November) or tomorrow are available on The Lazy Dog website, as well as full food menu and contact information.

As part of their announcement, the team thanked locals for their support over the last few months, for "coming to say hi" and "putting smiles back on our faces."
