Bristol Hippodrome closure extended into January 2021

Posted on: 28 Oct 2020

A number of shows, including Ronan Keating, Romesh Ranganathan and 9 to 5 The Musical, will be rescheduled.

Venue operators ATG have announced the extension of the closure of the Bristol Hippodrome, amid ongoing uncertainty regarding the coronavirus crisis.

UPDATE: Socially-distanced pantomime announced at the Bristol Hippodrome

After all performances at the renowned theatre were suspended initially with the introduction of lockdown in March, the Hippodrome team were initially hoping to reopen in August, before its closure was extended into September, then October, and later November.

Now, as the UK government begins to tighten measures once again in an effort to limit the spread of the virus, ATG have taken the decision to suspend all shows until Sunday 17 January 2021.

Several major shows at ATG venues across the country have already been rescheduled, such as School Of Rock and What's Love Got To Do With It?

In a statement posted online, ATG said: "Thank you to everyone for their ongoing love and support of theatre. We'll be back stronger and more fabulous than ever before!"

The statement went on to confirm that ticket holders whose bookings are affected by the extended closure do not need to do anything, and will be contacted by the Hippodrome team in the coming weeks.

Ticket holders will be eligible for full refunds for rescheduled or cancelled shows, with full credit vouchers also available, valid until 31 December 2021.

With coronavirus advice and safety guidelines changing regularly, the Bristol Hippodrome's current suspension of performances is subject to change and may be extended again.
