World-renowned, Bristol-based animators Aardman have opened registrations for their latest virtual model-making session, inviting people of all ages to have a go at crafting one of their most iconic characters.

Led by expert model maker Jim Parkyn, participants will be given the chance to find out exactly how to craft the perfect Gromit model, ask any burning questions and even learn an Aardman insider tip or two.

The session costs £15 per household, and is set to take place at 09:30 on Saturday 28 November, lasting one hour. Find out more and register here.

Gromit Model-Making Sessions.

Founded in the early 1970s, Aardman Animations have produced an array of beloved stop-motion characters over the years, from Wallace and Gromit to Shaun the Sheep, Feathers McGraw and Morph.

1989 saw the release of Wallace and Gromit's big-screen debut, A Grand Day Out, and the pair have starred in five full-length productions to date, most recently The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in October 2005.

The perfect indoor activity for all the family, Aardman's Gromit Model-Making Session is a great chance to unlock your creativity and learn from an in-house artist from one of the UK's best-loved animators.

Having joined the Aardman team in 2000, Senior Model Maker and Art Department Team Leader, Jim Parkyn, has worked on a wide range of projects, from the hit film Chicken Run to ad campaigns, outreach programmes and workshops.

In order to take part in the session, you'll need to source your own materials, with 200g of beige clay, 20g of brown clay, 10g of black clay, 10g of white clay and some toothpicks required to complete a Gromit model.

Upon registration, you'll be sent a list of suggested clay suppliers, as well as a set of options for making your own clay, to avoid any confusion.
