There's some live jazz coming up this week at The Cloak & Dagger

Live music is finally back on the menu at the cosy Cheltenham Road bar and arts venue.

The Cloak & Dagger are set continue their new live music series this Thursday 24 September, as The Undercover Ensemble return for a socially-distanced performance inside the bar's cosy basement performance space.

Following a successful launch earlier in September, The Cloak & Dagger's new residency invites local jazz artists to perform every other Thursday as part a long-awaited return to live programming.

Bristol-based five-piece The Undercover Ensemble are renowned for their combination of smooth, soulful classics and fresh, funky groovers, and should provide the perfect soundtrack as The Cloak & Dagger slowly welcome audiences back through the doors.

Opened in October 2019, The Cloak & Dagger is certainly one of the most unique venues in central Bristol, and the perfect spot for a diverse and exciting range of live shows.

You wouldn't know it from walking by the quirky-looking former tea room, but it's home to two cosy upstairs dining areas, three performance spaces and an outdoor courtyard.

Dealt a major blow by the coronavirus outbreak, the gradual return of The Cloak & Dagger's live programme is welcome news for both the venue team and the people that frequent it.

Speaking to 365Bristol in November, owner Jenna Graves said The Cloak & Dagger "has the potential to be absolutely anything", and that the team's main goal is to provide a steady platform for the huge number of performers and creative people in Bristol.

Tickets for the second instalment of Live Music at The Cloak & Dagger costs just £5 per person, and can be booked over the phone on 0117 329 4758 or via Facebook.

To ensure social distancing guidelines are adhered to, capacity is limited to 25 people. Tables are available in groups of up to four people, along with pre-ordering options for food and drinks.

The venue ask that attendees do not try to book through their Opentable booking service, which is reserved for restaurant bookings only.
