The popular magic and comedy spot has also retained its top spot on TripAdvisor among other popular Bristol attractions.

 

Renowned local comedy and theatre venue Smoke & Mirrors has been recognised at this year's TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, based on an array of glowing reviews posted by visitors throughout 2019.

 

Smoke & Mirrors' latest award comes following an extended period at the top of TripAdvisor's 'Best Things to Do' list, where it's held the number-one spot for over a year.

 

Scooping the Travellers' Choice Award for Theatres, the venue team will be buoyed by the news in time for their grand reopening this evening (Thursday 3 September), following months of closure as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

 

 

Based on a full year of TripAdvisor reviews, the annual Travelers' Choice Awards are allocated for consistently positive feedback, placing the winners among the top 10% of hospitality businesses and attractions worldwide.

 

Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at TripAdvisor, explains: “Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners' achievements.

 

"Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well-deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travelers as the world begins to venture out again.”

 

Regularly tipped as one of Bristol's best entertainment venues, Smoke & Mirrors host a wide range of performances year-round, from live standup to intimate close-up trickery and their flagship Comedy & Magic Show.

 

The venue team have been hard at work throughout lockdown, hosting a string of interactive live-streamed shows in the absence of their regular on-stage programming.

 

Of course, Smoke & Mirrors have also been busy adapting the performance areas in compliance with new COVID safety guidelines, ensuring a safe return to business for visitors, performers and venue staff.

 

 

Speaking on the award win, performer and Smoke & Mirrors owner, Mark Bennett, said: “We are absolutely over the moon to be awarded the Travelers' Choice Award for 2020.
