Apply for the chance to have work featured in one of Bristol's best-loved exhibition events.

The Royal West of England Academy has officially opened submissions for this year's Annual Open Exhibition, the 168th edition of the event.

Set to take place from 14 November 2020 - 7 March 2021, the Annual Open Exhibition invites UK-based artists to submit their work to be displayed in front of thousands of visitors.

Any and all mediums will be taken into consideration, so whatever your craft, head to the RWA website and apply before the deadline on Tuesday 22 September.

Set to showcase another stunning variety of work from a mix of emerging and established artists, the 2020/21 Annual Open Exhibition is a perfect opportunity for the public to discover new work and, potentially, invest in a well-known name.

The diverse exhibition brings together painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation and mixed media submissions from some of the most exciting artists from across Bristol and beyond.

All the work on display is for sale, allowing both artists and buyers to find their feet in the art market. A hit with art lovers both locally and from further afield, last year's exhibition saw more than 10,000 people visit to browse the work on display.

With a range of prizes up for grabs, including a first prize of £5000 available to any artist working in any medium, a selection panel will assess every entry that makes it into the final exhibition.

This year's panel includes RWA Academicians Fiona Robinson, Ros Ford, Seyed Edalatpour and Wendy Elia, as well as artist and gallerist Zavier Ellies, writer Anna McNay and curator Isabel Seligman.

For more information on the 168th RWA Annual Open Exhibition, or to find out how to apply, head to the RWA website.
