Idle Hands to reopen this week

Idle Hands to reopen this week

Posted on: 17 Aug 2020

The Stokes Croft record store has been operating online since the beginning of lockdown.

Idle Hands have confirmed a date for the long-awaited reopening of their City Road HQ, set to welcome customers back through the doors from Thursday 20 August onwards.

After revealing in March that Idle Hands would struggle to survive the coronavirus crisis, owner and DJ Chris Farrell received an outpouring of support from across the Bristol music scene and has continued to operate online throughout lockdown.

Revealing the news across Idle Hands' social media channels, Farrell confirmed opening times of 12:00 to 18:00 Thursday to Saturday, and 13:00 to 17:00 on Sundays.

The store will remain closed from Monday to Wednesday for now, with collections available on request.

Opened in 2011, Idle Hands has earned a reputation over the years as one of Bristol's best-loved independent record stores, home to a broad range of music from around the world and across the electronic spectrum.

Covering house, techno, UK garage, Italo, drum & bass, electro and much more, the store stocks classic and new releases from some of the world's top labels and producers, as well as an expansive selection of local music.

Having had time during lockdown, the Idle Hands team have carried out a full refit of the store, refurbishing and redecorating ahead of the arrival of its first physical customers in almost five months.

While the store is officially reopening this week, Idle Hands' online store is still very much up and running, with deliveries going out every day and free UK shipping available for orders of over £50.
