Bristol Rovers confirm refund scheme following cancellation of League One season

Posted on: 11 Jun 2020

The club have confirmed that refunds will be available to fans who had bought tickets for any of their four remaining matches.

Bristol Rovers have officially launched a refund process for fans this week, after teams voted to end the League One season early due to ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus crisis.

The update comes following the EFL's announcement on Tuesday that the League One and League Two seasons would be curtailed, with promotions and relegations decided on points per game.

Bristol Rovers fans celebrate at The Memorial Stadium.

Explaining the situation in a statement on their website, Rovers confirmed that all supporters, including season ticket holders and fans who had pre-purchased tickets for one or more of the club's final four games, will be able to access refunds.

Season ticket holders are set to receive a credit worth five twenty-thirds of their season ticket, or the value of the four remaining matches plus the postponed match against Bury earlier in the season.

Fans who had purchased individual tickets for one or more of the remaining matches will be able to claim full credit for their ticket(s).

Ticket holders will be contacted as soon as possible via email, with a breakdown of the refund process, details of refund options and a short survey to complete.

Fans will be given the choice between credit on their Bristol Rovers ticketing account, an online retail voucher equivalent to the value of their ticket, the option to donate the refund to the club's academy, or a full refund onto the payment card used for the original purchase.

"This has been a very challenging time for us as it has been for all clubs and we’d like to thank any supporters in advance that are able to donate their refunds back to the club," reads Rovers' official statement.

"We know that this method won’t be possible for all supporters, particularly in the current climate, however, we hope that these variety of options will be well received and will further cement the club’s commitment to act in the best interest of our supporter base as we work to progress together."
