Independent Whiteladies cocktail bar, Flipside Cocktail Bar, has launched a fundraising campaign in an attempt to save the venue from closure.

The new campaign, #PutItOnMyTab, allows fans of Flipside to pre-purchase drinks and cocktail-making workshops, alongside the chance to donate.

In short, the page reads: "buy a drink (or more) and we'll put it on your tab for once this sh!t storm is over."

The venue's current owners have operated on the premises for 12 years, carving out what we now know to be one of Whiteladies' leading bars.

Armed with highly-trained mixologists, a garden and a mezzanine venue hire space, Flipside, the fundraising page notes, has survived the 2008 financial crash as well as the first stages of Brexit.

"We are a small team with an amazing and loving clientele," the crowdfunder reads. "That is our family, and that is what defines us.

"Most of the staff that have worked with us over the years, have stayed with us for years and remain close friends to this day."

"The venue, be it Tequila Max, Papaji's or Flipside," the post continues, "has created so many relationships.

"Ones that have gone on to marriages and babies. We are a family and we are at risk. But together, we are strong."

On the crowdfunding page, donors can opt to pre-purchase drinks such as two cocktails for £10 or a cocktail-making session worth £25.

Each voucher will be redeemable when it is safe for the venue to reopen.

Can't make it to Flipside but want to help? There's also an option to tip the venue's loyal staff team or to donate a one-off payment.

At present, the cocktail bar has raised 13% of its target.

"We have ridden out the banking crises of 2008/09 with the financial instability that followed through to Brexshit," the crowdfunder concludes.

"We will ride this one out too. But to do so, we need your help."
