Published in 2017, Adam Kay's This Is Going To Hurt shot straight to the top of best-seller lists up and down the country upon its release.

The frank, graphic and brutally honest diary of Kay's experience as a junior doctor examined life working in the NHS and expertly articulated the highs and lows of the life of a doctor-in-training.

Having since retired as a doctor, Kay has toured his live standup show across the UK, selling out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and the Soho Theatre.

Back on the road in 2020, he'll be on stage at the Bristol Hippodrome on the rescheduled date of Wednesday 28 October.

Combining diary entries - and horror stories - from his time on the NHS frontline with spoof musical numbers and some witty wordplay, This Is Going To Hurt has been described as "electrifying" by The Guardian and "hilarious and heartbreaking" by Charlie Brooker.

Kay is touring the live show extensively this year, with an Australian tour on the horizon, sandwiched between dates in Manchester, Cardiff, London, Leeds, Edinburgh, and, of course, Bristol.

The multi-award-winning and multi-million-selling author has also released a follow-up to This Is Going To Hurt, titled Twas The Night Shift Before Christmas, and is currently putting finishing touches on a forthcoming children's book, Kay's Anatomy.

Don't miss him on stage in Bristol this summer as he brings his critically-acclaimed live show to the Hippodrome for one night only.

Tickets for Adam Kay live at the Bristol Hippodrome on Wednesday 28 October are on sale now and can be found here.
