Bristol cancer charity to bring local choirs together for special Christmas performance

Posted on: 30 Oct 2019

Local cancer charity Penny Brohn UK will be bringing choirs from across the city and North Somerset together for a one-off fundraiser this Christmas.

Set to take place on Friday 6 December at Clifton College Chapel, the festive fundraiser will see several local choir groups perform, including the Bristol Male Voice Choir, High Down Schools, Penny Brohn's own Community Choir and more.

A Christmas Carol will take place at the Clifton College Chapel.

The performance of A Christmas Carol is open to the public, with doors open at 18:00 before it gets underway at 18:15. It wouldn't be a Christmas event without mulled wine and mince pies, and the Penny Brohn team will be on hand to serve both before the show and during the interval.

Speaking on the announcement of the event, Penny Brohn Special Events Officer, Kirsty James, said: "we're delighted to be back in the magnificent Clifton College Chapel for our Christmas concert this year, and with so many talented singers.

"The choirs will perform classic carols and festive favourites during the evening. All the money raised will help us to support more people living with cancer to live as well as possible for as long as possible."

The festive event is just one of several fundraising efforts by Penny Brohn UK, a charity devoted to providing the very best care to people affected by cancer.

With nearly 40 years' experience of tireless work, the charity recognises that people with cancer need more than just medicine to live well with the disease.

Tickets to A Christmas Carol cost £10 per adult and £6 for seniors and under-16s. For more information on the event, to buy your tickets or to find out more about Penny Brohn UK, head to their website.
