Mix up your midweek: 4 essential workshops at The Cloak & Dagger

Posted on: 29 Oct 2019

The Cloak & Dagger is the latest addition to Cheltenham Road, and they're giving you the chance to shake up your midweek with a brand new range of in-house workshops.

Located at 182-184 Cheltenham Road (a few doors up from Colston Girls' School) The Cloak & Dagger has enjoyed a busy start to life.

From life drawing to live music, the unexpectedly spacious, multi-room venue is keeping things fresh with a variety of events. Here's a rundown of what's coming up.

Drumming @ The Cloak & Dagger.

Drumming Workshop | 29 October

The Cloak & Dagger team invite you to leave your troubles at the door for this one and let your rhythm do the talking. There's no chest beaters, no competition; just simple diffusion, a space to jam and a chance to have a go on different drums.

Attendees are asked to bring hand drums and percussion instruments if they have them, with a suggested donation of just £3.

Life Drawing @ The Cloak & Dagger Bristol.

United Models Life Drawing | 5 November

Taking place in The Cloak & Dagger's downstairs 'Carousel Room', United Models Life Drawing is run by a collective of life models, with two members modelling each session.

Whether you're looking to sharpen your drawing skills or wanting to try out a new hobby, we'd recommend giving it a try with The Clock & Dagger. The United Models team will be on hand to give advice and tips, and will be able to provide a small selection of basic materials. Classes run from 19:00 to 21:00 and cost £7 per person.

Stretch & Sketch @ The Cloak & Dagger, Bristol.

Stretch & Sketch | 24 November

Yoga and Sundays go hand in hand, and you can enjoy a whole Sunday morning stretching out tight muscles, unwinding and unlocking your creative flow with Stretch & Sketch.

A relaxing, mindful yoga session will be followed by a fun and easygoing drawing workshop. Led by artist Lisa Malyon, you'll be able to create freely, relax and shed any tension before the start of a brand-new week.

Beadilicious Jewellery Making @ The Cloak & Dagger, Bristol.

Beadilicious Jewellery Making Workshop w/Cream Tea | 30 November

Making its debut at the end of November is Beadilicious: a creative, fun and relaxed session where you'll be taught how to make unique beaded jewellery.

After a brief demonstration of the basic techniques in beaded jewellery-making, you'll get to make your own, choosing from a large selection of decorative beads.

What's more, attendees will be treated to a delicious cream tea after the session, allowing the group to discuss their creations and build on their new knowledge and skills. Places can be reserved for just £16 per person.

The Cloak & Dagger is located at 182-184 Cheltenham Road, BS6 5RB. For more information or to see what else they've got coming up, check out their Facebook page.
