Bristol Club Highlights | October 2019
Posted on: 01 Oct 2019Ah, October: the start of the autumn club season.
Summer festivals are over, the outdoor day parties are no more – but the indoor parties have only just begun. This month, we've got lots to look forward to; from first-time Bristol debuts to Simple Things Festival. Here's a rundown of what to expect.
Dropout Disco: Multiverse featuring Choas in the CBD, Dan Shake and Move D @ Lakota | Saturday 5 October
Dropout Disco is kicking off the autumn events season with a bang; bringing New Zealand’s Chaos in the CBD and their jazz/disco-infused sound for an extended set.
Along with Choas, Dropout adds to the line-up with Detroit-inspired producer Dan Shake and 90s techno big-name Move D.
Bodywork and Billie George @ Crofters Rights | Saturday 5 October
Didn’t manage to get tickets for Dropout? Bodywork is always a good time. Break a sweat with the Bodywork crew and warm-up for Billie George, a regular feature on Noods and 1020 Radio.
Method Lab 18: Cop Envy and Manami @ The Old England Pub | Friday 11 October
Method Lab is a relatively new party, but age is just a number. In recent times, they’ve hosted the likes of Hodge, Bruce and No Moon. This time, catch the drum-heavy sounds of Cop Envy (it’s the DJ’s first time playing in Bristol) and local selector Manami.
Loose Lips 5th Birthday w/ Galaxian and Lurka @ Dare to Club | 12 October
After half a decade of getting loose, they’re back for more with a special debut. Bristol, meet Galaxian: expect psych-flavoured electro and lightspeed techno, abiding by unusual methodologies.
Agrippa, Henry Greenleaf, Lo Chi and Lambard @ Aslyum Nightclub | Thursday 17 October
A little something for talent on the verge of something big. The noisy, post-dub of Agrippa has steadily climbed the ranks since 2015, while Bristol local Lo Chi emerged onto the city’s techno scene earlier this year.
Off Beat x Rhythm Works: K-Lone @ Crofters Rights | Thursday 17 October
Co-founder of successful label Wisdom Teeth, K-Lone produces minimal, but incredibly complex sound. Percussive, subtle, and a little bit melodic: we can’t wait.
Simple Things Festival @ Various | Saturday 19 October
Simple Things doesn’t really require an introduction, but just in case you haven’t heard already – their 2019 nighttime line-up is big.
Andrew Weatherall, Avalon Emerson, Laurel Halo – need we say more? Some of electronic music’s biggest names will play across Lakota and the Coroners Court complex.
Phonic Locker w/ Upsammy and Glances @ The Island | Saturday 26 October
Upsammy draws on the natural world to inform her of aural textures and cosmic electro. Catch her alongside recent-grad DJ duo, Glances.
Digestive Chamber: Halloween Special @ Basement 45 | Thursday 31 October 2019
For those lucky enough to be out on a school night, Basement 45 will be hosting a d’n’b, jungle and bassline-fuelled night, especially for Halloween.
