Frequencies 2019: the free festival helping young people get into music

Breaking into the music industry is notoriously difficult, but there’s a festival making it easier for Bristol’s young people. 

 

Are you aged 21 or under and interested in a music career? Frequencies festival is back for 2019, and it’s ready to give you the inside scoop on the music industry.

 

Want to get insider knowledge of the music industry? Try out new sounds? Or do you want to perform live on stage with 1:1 feedback from industry professionals? Frequencies is the place to do it.

Hosted by Music for Youth, Frequencies festival 2019 is free

On Saturday 28 September, head to The Station (14:45 – 21:30) for a day of workshops, networking and live performances. It's free! 

 

Get advice and insights from people already working in music, like Ujima Radio’s Jasmine Ketibuah-Foley, artist and music mentor Bridget Walsh; and composer Lisa Busby.

 

And find out more about DIY releasing with the event’s informal workshop. It’ll cover everything from the basics of designing and scheduling campaigns, to PR & marketing, to creating alternative income streams.

 

Or take the opportunity to meet with like-minded artists. You never know, it could be the start of a new collaboration!
