Bristol label Saffron Records to host 4th birthday party at Stokes Croft Beer Garden

Posted on: 28 Aug 2019

Renowned Bristol label Saffron Records is celebrating its fourth birthday with a community event at Stokes Croft Beer Garden on Thursday 12th September.

Saffron Records' 4th Birthday Party // Thursday 12th September.

Featuring DJ sets from the likes of Em Williams, Mercy's Cartel, Ngaio and Grove, the evening party will bring together the whole Saffron family as well as several members of the Bristol music industry, the label's partners and supporters and, of course, the good people of Bristol.

Entry to the party, running from 6-9pm at Stokes Croft Beer Garden, is free on the day with a £5 suggested donation. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come down and celebrate the fourth birthday of one of the city's most forward-thinking musical collectives.

Launched in 2015 to support, champion and inspire women, female-identifying and non-binary people in music, Saffron was established to address the major gender imbalance in the music technology industry.

The problem is reflected in recording studios, at mixing desks and on lineups around the world, and Saffron has been working to tackle it through its record label, teaching series (in the form of the immensely popular all-female DJ workshop Mix Nights) and artist development platform.

The label has been actively supporting womxn in music and music technology for four years now and, in 2019 alone, has partnered with the British Council, PRS Foundation, The Prince's Trust, Trinity Bristol and Team Love among others.

With Saffron and Mix Nights affiliates Em Williams, Mercy's Cartel, Ngaio and Grove bringing the vibes, there's no better time to show your support for the pioneering Bristol label.

Entry to Saffron Records' 4th Birthday Party at Stokes Croft Beer Garden on Thursday 12th September is free, with a £5 suggested donation.
