Catch political satirist Rory Bremner in conversation this October

Posted on: 16 Aug 2019

After three decades of political mockery, impressionist Rory Bremner has become a bit of a comedy legend. Now Bristol has the chance to learn about the person behind the gibes.

Rory is coming to St George’s for a frank, sit-down chat

On 17 October, Bremner will be sitting down with broadcaster Matthew Sweet at St George’s to discuss his career as Britain’s best-loved impressionist.

The night will take a look back at clips and stories from Bremner, Bird and Fortune, and the comedian’s many appearances on shows such as Whose Line Is It Anyway, Have I Got News for You and Mock the Week.

The event has been staged by Bristol Slapstick Festival – an annual celebration of silent and classic screen comedy – and Bristol Festival of Ideas.

At a time when the political climate is glum, we couldn’t think of a better man to bring us a bit of satirical sunshine.

Tickets cost £21, and you can get yours here. St George's is located: Great George Street (off Park Street), Bristol, BS1 5RR.
