Following a fire that devastated their studio on August 8, community radio station BCfm have been raising money to rebuild their station.

The blaze, which broke out while a presenter was live on air, burned crucial equipment including monitors, mixers and soundproofing. The estimated cost of the damage exceeds £15,000.

Since the crowdfunding page launched, the station has raised over £9,000, meaning that the team can begin planning the studio's rebuild.

Now the station has a stretch target of £10,000, with any further funds raised to be “invested back into BCfm” to secure facility upgrades, training and the station’s future.

A registered charity with no core funding, BCfm radio has been broadcasting since 2007 as Bristol's first community radio station. The radio has 200 volunteers and over 70 shows.

Help BCfm resume their usual broadcast by supporting their crowdfunding page here.
