Diabetes UK

Diabetes UK are delighted to be the official charity partner of the Simplyhealth Great Run Series 2019. We are leading the fight against the most devastating and fastest growing health crisis of our time, to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. There are currently 4.6 million people living with diabetes in the UK, and 12.3 million at risk of developing Type 2. Diabetes affects more people than any other serious health condition in the UK. More than dementia and cancer combined. That means we need to take action now. It's a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Until we achieve our vision. Join the team and get amazing support and an unforgettable experience. If you have any questions get in touch on 0345 123 2399 or email us: events.fundraising@diabetes.org.uk. We can’t wait to welcome you to our team.

Cancer Research UK

Join forces with the team that will get you to the finish line. We're the only ones fighting over 200 cancer. Our life-saving work is funded entirely by the generosity of our supporters, so every step we make towards beating cancer relies on every pound, and every runner. One in two people now survive cancer. Together we've achieved so much, but we won't stop until we've beaten it altogether. Join the team today and we will beat cancer sooner.

Alzheimer's Society

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer. We can beat it, but we can't do it alone. Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. We need you to run for us. We need your miles, your energy, your determination to help us find a cure. We know that training for a run isn't easy. But we need you to beat that snooze button, beat the weather, beat the wall – beat everything that stands between you and the finish line. Run for us and join the race to beat dementia.

Crimestoppers in the West Country

Since our inception 30 years ago Crimestoppers have been helping our communities Speak up, Stop Crime and Stay Safe whilst remaining 100% anonymous. Always. Running the half marathon for us will directly support our flagship campaign “What Would You Do?” a pioneering programme empowering children through drama to cope with the challenges that they face today in their community. The main objective of this project is to look at how they can make their community a safer and better place to be in, and to help them make an informed choice when faced with difficult challenges or decisions. Details of how we help communities is an important part of this project which the children showcase to a large audience at a major venue. For more information on this programme please go to https://uniquevoice.org/early-intervention-commissioning/what-would-you-do/.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Around 2.5 million people are living with cancer in the UK. By 2040, this figure will rise to 5.3 million. With your help we can do more for people living with cancer, giving each person the support they need to look after all that matters and take care of their health, protect personal relationships and deal with work and money worries. We want to help everyone with cancer find their best way through, from the moment of diagnosis, so they're able to live life as fully as they can. You can be someone who makes that happen. UK Sepsis Trust

The UK Sepsis Trust was founded in 2012 by world-leading sepsis expert, NHS consultant Dr Ron Daniels BEM. Our goal is to end preventable deaths from sepsis and improve outcomes for sepsis survivors. We believe that earlier diagnosis and treatment across the UK would save at least 14,000 lives a year. We seek to save lives from sepsis, and improve outcomes for survivors, by instigating political change, educating healthcare professionals, raising public awareness and providing support for those affected by this devastating condition. We will protect people by enabling the prevention of severe infection and the treatment of sepsis, whist helping to ensure antibiotics are used responsibly.

Winston's Wish

Winston's Wish supports children, young people and their families after the death of a parent or sibling. This is one of the most devastating and traumatic situations a child can face, but with the right support at the right time children can lead full and flourishing lives.
