Posted on: 23 Jul 2019

1 to 15 Charity Rugby is the new name of Impact Charity Rugby which launched in Bristol back in 2014 and starts again at Bristol Barbarians Rugby Club on Wednesday 31st July 2019 - think Zero to Hero boxing but for rugby. This season we are moving back to a men's team as we did a women's one last time!.

***If you would like to take part, join the 1 to 15 Impact Charity Rugby Group on Facebook and one of the team will get in touch***

Each year 1 to 15 aims to recruit around 30 rugby novices and non active players to take part in a physically demanding 5 week training program to learn the game of rugby, get fit and raise money for charity. The program comes to an end with a huge match day event on Saturday 7th September 2019 which in the past has been attended by over 800 friends, family and supporters.

The two chosen charities are the Jessie May Trust and Children's Hospice South West who offer care and support for terminally ill children and in the previous 3 years of the program over £75,000 has been raised. Tickets are £5.98 including booking fees through Eventbrite for adults, under 16's are free of charge.

The original founders of Impact Charity Rugby, Bob Barnes and Olly Slym, have now moved on so a determined team from Bristol Barbarians Rugby Club, with support from 365Bristol and BARBIE (Bristol Association of Restaurants, Bars and Independent Establishments) are looking to follow in their footsteps and try and achieve the fantastic amount of funds raised for the two incredible charities by Bob and Olly.

In addition to the lads putting their bodies through the pain barrier for 5 weeks they will also be selling raffle tickets for the charities, and if you are unable to attend but would like to purchase some please contact info@365bristol.com - tickets are £1 each or 5 for a fiver!

Please like the Facebook page to follow the progress and support the cause.

Thanks from Brendan, Adam, Louis, Dave, Lee, Alex and loads more from Bristol Barbarians RFC.
