Popular Bristol blogger and author Heidi Loughlin to take part in Penny Brohn's 2019 Stomp sponsored walk
Posted on: 16 Jul 2019Penny Brohn UK's fundraising favourite is back this October, with the Stomp for Cancer sponsored walk set to take Bristolians across some of the city's most iconic landmarks to raise essential funds in the effort to support those affected by cancer. Signups for the event, taking place on Saturday 12th October, are open now and can be found via the link below.
Portishead mum, author and blogger, Heidi Loughlin, is calling for people to join her at this year's Stomp in aid of local cancer charity, Penny Brohn UK. Having supported the event in 2018 Heidi and her family and friends will be getting involved once more this October for a six-mile sponsored walk across Bristol.
Taking place on Saturday 12th October, the family-friendly walk will start at Anchor Square on the Bristol Harbourside, before following the towpath alongside Avon Gorge, right along to Penny Brohn UK's National Centre in Pill. The event will culminate with a Stomp Autumn Fayre at the National Centre, with stalls, refreshments and entertainment all on offer.
Having been personally affected by cancer and now running her up-front and honest blog, Storm in a Tit Cup, Heidi has close ties with Penny Brohn UK and is keen to do all she can to involve herself with the charity's fundraisers. “My friends and I are really looking forward to this year’s Stomp for Penny Brohn UK," she said. "We loved it last year as the atmosphere was full of fun, the kids were thrilled to be able to participate in the challenge and we all got to eat chocolate along the way! Penny Brohn UK do a fantastic job in promoting the whole person approach to living with cancer. It’s not just about medicine."
Penny Brohn are, of course, over the moon to have Heidi involved again, as Community Fundraising Officer Sophie Thomas outlines: "We’re so happy to have Heidi and her friends and family join us at Stomp again this year. It is our third annual Stomp and we’re hoping to make it even bigger and better. It’s a really fun day out for the whole family and everyone is welcome. Including dogs! We’d love to see lots of friends and families take part in Stomp to help us to support more people living with cancer.”
Registration for Penny Brohn UK's 2019 Stomp is open now, priced at £12 for adults and just £7 for children under 14.
