Bristol’s Big Gorgeous Festival in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support is back for its third year
Posted on: 31 May 2019The Big Gorgeous Festival is back for its third year in Bristol on Saturday 27th July.
A festival for a cause, the event raises money for Macmillan Cancer Support after the founder sadly lost his father to the disease in 2015. This year, all profit will be donated to Macmillan and to Caring in Bristol, a charity to help the homeless.
The line-up includes an eclectic array of sounds which span dance music, Calypso, rock and classical to name only a few.
Names include the likes of Kobo Town, Mad Apple Circus, Daisy Chapman, Mike Crawford and The Various Sorrows and more!
“This year all profits will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support and also Caring in Bristol, who provide support and services to those facing homelessness. Macmillan are a fantastic organisation and were hugely supportive during my Dad’s battle with Cancer. Whilst supporting charities focused on Cancer Care are close to my heart, I’m also keen to diversify and support other worthy causes. There is a growing crisis of homelessness and Caring in Bristol do some incredible prevention and support work within the local community. In order to help raise as much money as possible for these charities, I seek sponsorship support from local business to cover infrastructure and organisational costs. The festival is indebted to the businesses, from Bristol and beyond, who have come on board to sponsor the event. Set at Windsor Terrace, a large private Georgian terrace near Clifton Suspension Bridge, the setting makes for a perfect family friendly festival with many kids activities, food stalls and of course- a bar!
