Based on the classic film by Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger and the fairytale by Hans Christian Anderson, the sensational smash-hit and double Olivier Award-winning production is back at the city's top theatrical venue after a sell-out run back in 2017.

Staged by Bourne and ground-breaking, British dance-theatre company New Adventures, this spellbinding adaption has enchanted and dazzled audiences across the globe since its world premiere season in 2016.

A dramatic, riveting tale of obsession, possession, a girl's dream to be the greatest dancer in the world and the torment between the two men who inspire her, this production is set to the dramatic music of legendary film composer Bernard Herrmann, who scored such classic movies as Citizen Kane, Psycho and Taxi Driver.

The music has been adapted and orchestrated by Terry Davies with a knock-out performance by the New Adventures Orchestra, and the show features stunning cinematic designs by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable, sound by Paul Groothuis and projection by Duncan McLean.
