Bristol club Zed Alley to host Electric Barbarella 80s night on Friday 29th March

Posted on: 22 Mar 2019

The 80s was a great decade. The fashion was sometimes debatable but the toys were fantastic, the sweets amazing, the films awesome, and the songs some of the finest written. Ever. Luckily then, those who remember those halcyon days of Donkey Kong, Parma Violets, Back to the Future and the soundtrack that accompanied them will revel in Bristol club Zed Alley's Electric Barbarella 80's Club Night on Friday 29th March 2019.

Electric Barbarella at Zed Alley.

Of course, you needn't have actually grown up in the 80s to appreciate the incredible bands and awesome tunes that burst forth from the decade with unrelenting energy and originality. The pop bands and performers of yesteryear would certainly have knocked into shape the likes of your modern day Ariana Aguileras, Ollie Sheerans and Backstreet Directions.

An alternative night of pop hits and unforgettable 80's bangers, Zed Alley - one of the city's more recent additions to the club and music scene - will present DJ Chez, who will spin the vinyl and pump out the tunes for a cracking all-nighter of wall-to-wall classics.

Covering New Wave, Synthpop, Goth and New New Romantic, there'll be plenty of old-school treats in store including the likes of The Cure, Duran Duran, Kraftwerk, Eurythmics, New Order, Depeche Mode, A-Ha, Tears For Fears, Simple Minds, Spandau Ballet, Nick Cave, Siouxsie and the Banshees and.....well, that's more than enough to whet your 80's-craving appetite.

Entry to this fabulous musical retro fest is free, and the tuneage starts from 7pm until around midnight. Shoulder pads, Rubik's cubes and giant perms are not compulsory.
