Love Food Festival at Paintworks on Sunday 24th March 2019

Posted on: 21 Mar 2019

Paintworks in Bristol will host the return of its perennially popular Love Food Festival for a very special celebration of spring on Saturday 24th March 2019.

To mark the arrival of the season there will, as always, be a plentiful roster of yummy foodstuff to try and buy. This year will see the likes of delicious gluten-free cakes from Honeybuns; tangy, moreish chutneys and sauces from Ginger Beard; Devon Fishcake's abundant treat of fresh fish and fishcakes; first-rate vegan cheese courtesy of Good Food by Sumear; Bath Soft Cheese Company's delectable array of organic cheeses; and award-winning spice blends thanks to Parva.

Of course, Mother's Day is the following Sunday so there are plenty of great gift ideas for that too, including special bouquets from Floriography by Vera Fallacy, fabulous homemade chocolates by Chocolate Bar, eminently quaffable infused gins by Espensen Spirits, and thirst-quenching ales from The Incredible Brewing Company if she's partial to a flagon of beer.

Being a family event, kids are also well catered for with plenty of things to get stuck into and enjoy such as a seasonal cookery workshop, Oodle Doodle to make Mother's Day cards and paper flowers, and a nature-based story corner with games for a spot of quiet play time. And, of course, being a food festival it's probably wise to skip breakfast that morning as you'll be spoilt for choice with the multitude of awesome and delicious gastronomic offerings that will scintillate your senses and tempt your tastebuds. Cue the mouthwatering street food line-up of Ah Ma's unforgettable dumplings, Agnes Spencer's juicy and flavourful jerk chicken, Good Game's venison burgers, Thali's first-class curries, fabulous paella from Spanish Buffet, and Los Hermanos' irresistibly moreish baps.
Wash it all down with an alcoholic beverage or three (well, at least the adults can) with a cider-sipping spectacular headed by the event's resident cider impresario Dick Willows.
