International Women's Day is upon us, a chance to celebrate the International Women's Rights Movement and take a moment to appreciate the influential women that surround us all. In line with the event there's an array of female-run parties taking place in Bristol tonight inside some of the city's favourite club venues, including Basement 45, Faraway Cocktail Club and more. Find all the details below.

Peachin' #008 on International Women's Day 2019.

International Women's Day Extravaganza // The Exchange // £7 adv

Join Punka & Grrrl Crush at The Exchange tonight for a huge celebration of women of all shapes and sizes! With live music from Bristol trio IDestroy, Glaswegian punk rock duo The Twistettes and Bristol grunge queens Drunken Butterfly, drag from the infamous Oliver Assets and Ruby Rawbone and DJ sets from Grrrl Crush head honcho Some Chick Called BOB, DEE2 and Riot Paula, this one is set to be one of the biggest IWD events of the year.

That Thing on International Women's Day // Basement 45 // £5 - £7

Not affiliated with the Stokes Croft clothes shop of the same name, That Thing are a brand-new collective whose inaugural party is locked in on the night of International Women's Day 2019. They've booked their acts accordingly, putting together an unmissable all-female lineup to put Basement 45 through its paces, with NTS resident and recent Boiler Room debutant Fauzia, old-school jungle DJ Minni Malloi, big break selector Mysogifist and more set to take over on the night. You won't find any advance tickets for this one - get yours on the door for £5 or £7 after midnight, with all proceeds going to tackling period poverty in Bristol's refugee community.

Peachin' #008 - International Women's Day // Faraway Cocktail Club // £3 - £5

Girl Like You's renowned Peachin' series is back tonight for their eighth Bristol party, and they've made sure to assemble an all-star, all-female cast to mark IWD 2019. Mix Nights graduates Sofa Sofa and Adibah, Brooklyn-born Karisma, Peachin' residents Lexxi and Ella-Sian and the Girl Like You crew will be spinning a high-energy selection of UK garage, funk, afrobeat, UK funky, 90s dance, disco, dancehall and much more from 9pm till late. Cocktails are 2-for-1 all night long too - what more could you ask for?
